Fortescue Partners with Envision for Australian Wind and Solar Projects

Fortescue and Envision Energy announced a global alliance September 26, 2025, to expand Australia's renewable energy infrastructure. The partnership, revealed at the UN General Assembly, aims to decarbonize industrial operations using cost-competitive clean energy. Fortescue seeks to achieve its Real Zero target by 2030, eliminating fossil fuels from its operations. Envision will supply advanced wind turbines and energy storage solutions. Fortescue signed a turbine supply agreement for its initial major wind project in the Pilbara region. The project will deploy Envision's EN182-7.8MW turbines. These turbines are designed to maximize energy production in areas with lower wind speeds. Kane Xu of Envision Energy highlighted Australia's potential for sustainable energy development. He emphasized the role of collaboration and technology in creating resilient, low-cost energy systems. Fortescue plans to integrate 2-3 GW of wind and solar generation, supported by large-scale battery storage, directly into its electrical grid. This initiative marks a significant step toward sustainable energy and emphasizes strategic partnerships in addressing climate challenges. The collaboration focuses on deploying proven technologies to achieve tangible reductions in carbon emissions.
