500 Global, UNDP Launch Programs for African Entrepreneurs

Nairobi, Kenya – August 18, 2025 – 500 Global and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) initiated three new programs today to strengthen Africa’s startup landscape. These initiatives target entrepreneurs at various growth stages, offering specialized acceleration strategies. The Pre-Acceleration Academy, commencing October 6, will guide early-stage founders. A second program, the Sustainable Innovation Seed Accelerator, supports seed-stage companies developing environmentally conscious solutions. These programs aim to equip founders with essential tools and knowledge. Additionally, 500 Global will conduct a Bootcamp for Accelerator Managers. This training will enhance the capabilities of managers and incubators involved in the UNDP’s timbuktoo initiative, which promotes continental innovation. Mareme Dieng, a partner at 500 Global, highlighted the organization's commitment: “We are excited to deepen our work with African entrepreneurs and help them adapt to this new global landscape.” Collectively, these efforts will provide crucial insights, mentorship, and resources.
