ADS-TEC Energy Plans Gigawatt-Scale Battery Storage in Germany

ADS-TEC Energy will construct a large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) in southern Germany, pending final approvals. The project aims to provide 1 gigawatt of power output and 2 gigawatt-hours of storage capacity. Located in an unspecified city, the facility received unanimous local council support and a positive grid connection assessment. Scheduled for completion by 2029, development and financing should conclude by mid-2026. Once operational, the BESS can supply the daily energy needs of approximately 250,000 homes.
