Major Swedish Firms Establish Sferical AI for National Competitiveness

Several prominent Swedish corporations, including Ericsson, Saab, SEB, Wallenberg Investments, and AstraZeneca, have launched Sferical AI. This new entity will develop advanced artificial intelligence infrastructure and establish a dedicated tech center. The initiative partners with chip manufacturer Nvidia to bolster Sweden's position in the AI-driven global economy. Marcus Wallenberg, Chairman of Wallenberg Investments, highlighted the venture's strategic importance. He stated, “This initiative allows leading Swedish companies to secure a strong position during the significant economic shifts driven by AI development and application.” Jenny Nordlöw assumes the role of CEO, with Anders Ynnerman serving as working chairman. Nordlöw expressed her dedication, saying, “I am honored to lead Sferical AI and collaborate with our partners to build next-generation AI infrastructure in Sweden, enhancing national industrial competitiveness.” The company aims to create a robust AI ecosystem within the country.
