Preem's HVO100 Earns Nordic Swan Ecolabel for Fuel

Preem's Redefine HVO100 has achieved a significant milestone, becoming the first liquid fuel to be awarded the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. This prestigious recognition, the official eco-label of the Nordic countries, underscores the fuel's strong environmental credentials and its role as a sustainable alternative. Produced at Preem's Gothenburg refinery using residual products such as tall oil, animal fats, and food waste, Redefine HVO100 offers a substantial reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, exceeding 90% compared to fossil diesel. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel imposes stringent requirements, mandating that fuels demonstrate at least a 75% lower emissions footprint than fossil alternatives. Furthermore, the label ensures the exclusive use of sustainable and traceable raw materials, with a strict prohibition on palm oil. Chemically equivalent to traditional diesel, Redefine HVO100 is compatible with most diesel vehicles without necessitating any engine modifications.
