Mildef Reaffirms Financial Goals Ahead of Capital Markets Day

Preem, a Swedish fuel company, has earned the official Nordic Svanen (the Swan) eco-label for its Redefine HVO100 biofuel. This marks the first liquid fuel to successfully meet the certification's rigorous new standards, implemented in 2022. To achieve this distinction, fuels must exhibit greenhouse gas emissions at least 75% lower than fossil alternatives and utilize sustainable, traceable raw materials. The certification prohibits substances such as palm oil. Preem's HVO100 is manufactured from waste products, including tall oil and animal fats, and can achieve emission reductions exceeding 90% compared to conventional diesel. Daniel Granquist, a business developer at Preem, stated that the Svanen label provides customers with confidence in the fuel's sustainable sourcing. Anna Linusson, CEO of Miljömärkning Sverige, the organization managing the Svanen label, expressed her hope that this certification will encourage other companies to elevate their environmental standards. She anticipates that broader industry adoption will enable the establishment of even more stringent criteria in the future, driving the entire sector towards more sustainable practices.
