Maria Rankka Takes Helm at Bico Group's Board

Medtech Magazine reports that Bico Group has appointed Maria Rankka as its new chairperson. She succeeds Rolf Classon, who is stepping down for health reasons. Rankka's appointment is effective immediately and will extend until the company's next annual general meeting. Rankka joined the Bico Group board in May 2025, bringing extensive leadership experience to the role. Her current positions include chairing Cellcolabs and co-founding ABC Labs. Previously, she served as CEO of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. Her background is anticipated to guide Bico's strategic direction. Rankka expressed her commitment to Bico's mission of accelerating the delivery of innovations to market for pharmaceutical companies, biopharma, and academia, with the goal of contributing to healthier societies. She also highlighted a personal appreciation for the impact of lab automation, particularly as experienced during the pandemic. Rankka stated her enthusiasm for increased involvement and contributing to Bico's ongoing development.
