Dagens Industri reports that Kinnarps, a prominent European provider of workplace solutions, is significantly reducing its transport emissions by transitioning to Preem's Svanen-labeled HVO100 fuel. This strategic initiative is designed to lower the company's direct greenhouse gas output while simultaneously assisting its customers in diminishing their own climate footprints.
Johanna Ljunggren, Kinnarps' Corporate Sustainability Manager, underscored that the company's overarching sustainability strategy focuses on developing durable interior solutions with a minimal environmental impact. Kinnarps has set ambitious targets: to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 from a 2019 baseline and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. To date, the company has already realized a 46 percent reduction toward its 2030 objective. The adoption of Preem Redefine HVO100, a fuel that reduces greenhouse gas emissions by over 90 percent compared to conventional diesel, will further decrease Kinnarps' transport emissions by an additional 17 percent beyond their prior use of renewable fuels.
Daniel Granquist, a Business Developer at Preem, highlighted the significance of the Svanen label, which guarantees the fuel's composition is entirely free from palm oil and its derivatives. Preem Redefine HVO100 is primarily manufactured from residual products at Preem's refinery in Gothenburg, directly supporting Kinnarps' sustainability objectives and enabling their customers to meet their environmental targets.
