Nvidia to Invest £2 Billion in UK AI Startups

Nvidia Corp. has announced a £2 billion ($2.7 billion) investment to bolster the United Kingdom's artificial intelligence industry. This significant capital injection, detailed in a company statement, will be deployed in collaboration with venture capital firms Accel, Air Street Capital, Balderton Capital, Hoxton Ventures, and Phoenix Court. The primary objective of this investment is to "empower the UK to compete in the AI market globally." During an event in London, Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang outlined specific companies slated to receive funding. These include autonomous vehicle technology developers Wayve and Oxa, and fintech company Revolut. The investment will also target AI firms PolyAI, Synthesia, Latent Labs, and Basecamp Research, underscoring Nvidia's commitment to nurturing diverse AI innovation across the UK.
